City Big Data for Open Usage

Mr. Eric Yau is the Senior Geospatial Manager of AMBIT Geospatial Solution Ltd, he has over 19 years’ in geomatic engineering including GIS, Remote Sensing, LiDAR and Digital Photogrammetry. He obtained his BA (Hons) in Geography from the Hong Kong Baptist University; MSc in GIS from the University College London and MA in Transport Policy & Planning from the University of Hong Kong. He is one of the pioneers in use of GIS for geotechnical application in Hong Kong, including natural landslide susceptibility analysis, 3D geological modelling, terrain simulation, site formation analysis, flood mapping and sewerage master planning. He had supervised the GIS work in several large scale spatial database development projects related to city development application. He has been participating in using new generation of geospatial technology to support smart city development for the government and corporate enterprise. AMBIT is currently the prime high resolution 3D city data provider to various government departments, its accomplished project areas have covered 95% of urban area of Hong Kong in term of aerial photogrammetry and LiDAR applications.
